Legal & General America (LGA), a top ten US life insurer, today announced that it helped raise $65,850 for the philanthropic arm of the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA) – the NAILBA Charitable Foundation. Proceeds were raised during NAILBA’s primary fundraising event hosted at its annual member conference in October, allowing the Foundation to provide grants to local charities and non-profit organizations that enhance the overall quality of life for the underserved.
LGA, a charter member of the NAILBA Charitable Foundation, sponsored a $5,000 raffle prize during the fundraiser and offered to match $50 donations up to $25,000 to encourage members to give. This promotion raised $35,850, and the $5,000 raffle prize was generously donated back to the Foundation by winner Gerald Hartman of Insurance Network America, Inc. This, paired with LGA’s matching funds, contributed to the total amount raised – more than $65,000.
“This year’s event was an amazing display of giving by generous members of NAILBA, and Legal & General America is proud to have played a role in another successful fundraiser hosted by the Foundation,” said Patrick Bowen, SVP, Distribution, LGA and member of the NAILBA Charitable Foundation Board. “Taking care of families when they need it most is a core value we share with the NAILBA Charitable Foundation. We look forward to seeing the impact these funds will have on local member non NAILBA-charitable-foundation-logo.jpg profits that so effectively serve their communities.”
Since 2002, the NAILBA Charitable Foundation has encouraged volunteerism and provided grants for charitable programs in the communities of NAILBA's member agencies and corporate partners.
“We truly appreciate the continued support from Legal and General America. The generosity of industry partners such as LGA empowers the NAILBA Charitable Foundation to help make a difference in the communities our members serve,” said Robin Landers, incoming president of the NAILBA Charitable Foundation.
This announcement comes shortly after LGA announced its annual Charitable Giving Campaign, which raised over $952,000 with the help of the local Frederick community.
